This Privacy Policy describes how Money Mate ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Money Mate application.
1. Information We Collect
- Guest Mode: If you use Money Mate without logging in, all your data (expenses, income, budgets, etc.) is stored locally on your device/browser. No personal information is collected or transmitted to any server.
- Google Login: If you choose to log in with your Google account, we request access to your Google profile (for personalization), Google Drive, and Google Sheets. These permissions are required to create and sync your data to a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Your profile information (such as name and email) is only used within the app for personalization and is not shared or stored by the developer.
2. How We Use Information
- In guest mode, all features work offline and your data never leaves your device.
- With Google login, your data is synced to a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. The app only accesses and manages the sheet it creates for you, and does not access any other files or data in your Google account.
- At no point does the app developer (or any third party) have access to your financial data or Google account data. All sync and access is between your device and your Google account, as permitted by Google’s privacy policy.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Guest mode: Data is stored locally in your browser using local storage or similar browser-based technologies. You are responsible for the security of your device and browser.
- Google login: Data is stored in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Google’s privacy and security policies apply to your data stored in Google Drive and Sheets.
- No data is ever sent to or stored on any server controlled by the app developer.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- Money Mate does not share your personal or financial information with any third parties.
- All data access and sync is strictly between your device and your Google account, as authorized by you.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- You can use Money Mate in guest mode forever, without ever logging in.
- If you use Google login, you can log out at any time. To delete your synced data, simply delete the Google Sheet created by the app in your Google Drive.
- Uninstalling or deleting the app will remove all locally stored data from your device.
6. Google Privacy Policy
When you use Google login and sync, your data is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of service. Please review Google’s privacy policy for more information on how your data is handled by Google.
7. Children's Privacy
Money Mate is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
